Njegov lik ima nadimak Morska Zmija, najpoznatiji je nautički avantu- rista u istoriji Vesterosa, bogatiji je čak i od Lanistera i ima pravo na najvecu mornaricu na svetu… Da li ste fan prethodne serije? – Počeo sam kasno da gledam, ne- ko mi je preporučio seriju i naravno da sam se navukao. Inače, nisam ni znao da sam uopšte pozvan na audiciju za Kuću zmaja . Samo su mi poslali ne- koliko scena, sa izmenjenim imeni- ma i bez tačnog naslova serije. Kada sam video deo koji treba da izgovo- rim, rekao sam svojoj partnerki kako taj lik podseća na nekog iz Igre pre - stola . Da, išao sam ranije na audiciju za prvu seriju, ali srećom, nisam je ta- da dobio (smeh). Recite nam nešto više o svom liku. Uglavnom ćete biti uz presto… – Kada sam dobio ulogu i bio na pr- vim razgovorima sa kreatorima seri- je, puno smo pričali o roditeljstvu i o tome kako je biti otac. I tada sam već shvatio u kom pravcu ćemo ići. Jasno je, moj lik je istraživač, osvajač, more- plovac, ali je ponajpre porodičan čo- vek i vrlo posvećen otac. Za razliku od mnogih likova u seriji, bar u prvom se- rijalu, on voli svoju ženu i decu. Ra- di uvek u njihovom interesu, mada ih često ne konsultuje u svojim odluka- ma. Nisam čitao knjigu, iako sam do- bio potpisan primerak od Džordža R. R. Martina jer sam odlučio da igram taj lik onako kako su mi ga dali u sce- nariju.

You will mostly be alongside the throne… “When I got the role and was at the first discussions with the creators of the se- ries, we spoke a lot about parenting and what being a father is like. And I already grasped then which direction we would go in. My character is clearly an explor- er, a conqueror, a seafarer, but he is first and foremost a family man and a very devoted father. Unlike many characters in the show, at least in this first series, he loves his wife and children. He always works in their interest, though he often doesn’t consult them when making de- cisions. I haven’t read the book, despite having received a signed copy from George R.R. Martin, because I decided to portray the character as he was given to me in the script.”

Someone rec- ommended the show to me and I was naturally hooked. Interestingly, I didn’t even know that I’d been invited to au- dition for House of the Dragon. I was just sent a few scenes, with the names changed and the precise title of the series removed. When I saw the part that I had to perform, I said to my part- ner that the character reminded me of someone from Game of Thrones. Yes, I
