Ali nije bi- lo takvog scenarija sve do ovog filma – rekla je Džuli- ja dodajući da se rado vratila u ove vode jer „voli da se smeje i da bude smešna“. Glumica je odmah znala da će film funkcionisati sa- mo sa Klunijem, a i on je osetio isto. Džulija Roberts i sam scenario bili su mu presudni da snimi Kartu za raj . – Nisam radio romantičnu komediju još od Jed- nog lepog dana iz 1996. Ali nisam mogao da odbijem ovo jer smo Džulija i ja strašno zli jedno prema dru- gom u filmu, i to na najsmešniji način. Zabavna, za- bavna, zabavna priča i glumačka ekipa – rekao je Kluni. Premijera je zakazana za 21. oktobar, a nema ni- kakve sumnje, bar sudeći prema trejleru, da ćemo uži- vati u ovom filmu. Svima nam je potrebno malo ro- mantike i komedije, zar ne?
Director Oliver Parker has previously directed suc- cessful rom-coms and Clooney is also no stranger to the genre (One Fine Day and Intolerable Cruelty), though they haven’t marked his career like they have with Roberts, who has been dubbed the queen of rom-coms (alongside Meg Ryan, of course). Her first Oscar-winning perfor- mance in 2001, for Erin Brockovich, saw her break out of the genre, though she’s made occasional excursions back to this familiar territory, such as with Valentine’s Day, Eat Pray Love and Mother’s Day. “People sometimes misconstrue the amount of time that’s gone by that I haven’t done a romantic comedy as my not wanting to do one… If I had read something that I thought was that Notting Hill level of writing or My Best Friend’s Wedding level of madcap fun, I would do it. They didn’t exist until this movie,” said Julia, add- ing that she gladly returned to these waters because she “loves to laugh and be funny”. The actress said she knew immediately that the film would only work with Clooney, and it turned out that he felt the same way about her. The inclusion of Roberts, and the quality of the script itself, were crucial in him agreeing to make Ticket to Paradise. “I haven’t done a romantic comedy really since One Fine Day in 1996, but I couldn’t turn this down because, in the film, Julia and I get to be terribly mean to each other in the funniest way. It’s really a fun, fun, fun sto- ry and cast,” said Clooney. Scheduled to premiere on 21 st October, there’s no doubt – at least judging by the trailer – that we’ll enjoy this film. And aren’t we all in need of a little romance and comedy?
