Recognised around the world as one of the most be- loved tenors, with over 90 million records sold, Andrea Bocelli shifts the boundaries of music with every new performance he makes. He per- formed at Queen Elizabeth II's Plat- inum Jubilee celebrations in Lon- don, and over the course of his career has sung in front of four American presidents, three popes and numer- ous prime ministers, but also at the world’s most important sport- ing and cultural events. He arrives in Belgrade after a nine-year break, once again ready to warm the hearts of the audience and provide them with the highest quality music show on offer anywhere in the world at the moment, at least when it comes to fusions of classical and pop music. Mariza, in contrast, has already had six sold-out concerts in Belgrade and is this time arriving with the wish to stage an unforgettable con- cert spectacle akin to those she’s already put on at London’s Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House. To the accompaniment of her own musicians, on a big stage on the bank of the Sava, under an open sky, Mariza will transport the audience to the magical world of fado, which is said to be “music of the soul”.
