Cer Cer is first and foremost a mountain that preserves the memories of Serbia’s rich history. Hiking its trails will get you acquainted with World War I’s famous Bat- tle of Cer, here you can also see traces of the legacy of the Roman Empire and return to bygone times in mul- tiple ways. Mountaineers claim that you can see half of Serbia from some of Cer’s observation points that can be reached on foot, but this mountain is also very accom- modating for cyclists thanks to its well-maintained lanes. Sopotnica We might not have a sea, but we do have wondrous lakes Western Serbia has unified outstanding natural beauty, beloved mountain tourist centres, waterfalls, caves, fantastic canyons and lakes with the cleanest water The Sopotnica Waterfalls represent a wondrous at- traction on the slopes of Jadovnik mountain. Located near the village of Sopotnica, which is known for tradi- tional dishes and drinks that are characteristic of this ar- ea, but people primarily come here to see the Sopotni- ca river and the waterfalls that appear along its course some 20 kilometres from Prijepolje. The main waterfall crashes over the collapsed riverbed with a loud roar, but that’s not the only waterfall here. The Sopotnica’s course and springs occasionally cause it to form several water- falls that are also worth seeing. Ovčar–Kablar Gorge The Ovčar-Kablar Gorge is one place in Western Ser- bia that you simply must experience at least once. This is an ideal destination for those who love the rare fusion
of powerful nature with cultural and historical contents. The mighty West Morava river forced its way between the Ovčara and Kablar massifs to form one of the most beautiful natural scenes. This gorge is also known for its numerous monasteries dating back several centuries that have led to it being dubbed the Serbian Holy Mountain. Zlatar Lake The main asset of the mountain of Zlatar is undoubt- edly represented by its countless forested areas and sun- ny mountain climes that are traversed by numerous tai- lored hiking trails.
