Er Srbija se seća prvog leta Air Serbia remembers the first flight
It was 94 years ago, on 15 th February 1928, that Ser- bia’s first national airline, Aeroput, established air traffic between Belgrade and Zagreb. That historic first flight took two hours, but was preceded by two years of planning and fundraising to implement the exciting and risky idea of esta- blishing a commercial airline. The foundations of Serbian civil aviation were laid wi- th the realisation of the vision of pilot and aeronautical en- gineer Tadija Sondermajer. It was under his command that a Potez 29-2 biplane, symbolically named Belgrade, went down in history. He received a warm welcome from citi- zens and representatives of the authorities in Zagreb, whi- le five journalists and photojournalists from the newsrooms of Belgrade immortalised their first journey above the clo- uds. Neither the high price of tickets at the time nor the pa- ssengers’ fear of flying proved to be obstacles to the further development of Serbian aviation.Air Serbia ranks eighth on the list of the world’s oldest airlines that are still operating.
Pre 94 godine, 15. februara 1928, prva srpska nacionalna avio-kompanija Aeroput uspostavila je sa- obraćaj između Beograda i Zagreba. Istorijski prvi let trajao je dva sata, a prethodile su mu dve godine plani- ranja i prikupljanja sredstava za realizaciju uzbudljive i ri- zične ideje osnivanja društva za vazdušni saobraćaj. Temelji srpske civilne avijacije postavljeni su ostva- rivanjem vizije pilota i aero-inženjera Tadije Sonderma- jera. Pod njegovom komandom avion potez 29-2 sim- boličnog naziva Beograd otisnuo se u istoriju. Građani i predstavnici vlasti u Zagrebu priredili su mu toplu do- brodošlicu, a pet novinara i foto-reportera iz beograd- skih redakcija sačuvali su od zaborava prvo putovanje iznad oblaka. Ni tadašnja visoka cena karata, ni strah putnika od letenja nisu predstavljali prepreku za dalji ra- zvoj srpskog vazduhoplovstva. Er Srbija se nalazi na osmom mestu liste najstarijih avio-kompanija na svetu koje i dalje posluju.
