Flights to Amman, Lyon and Sochi are also being introduced Air Serbia will launch scheduled direct flights between Belgrade and the Jordanian capital of Amman on 1 st June 2022, while it also plans to launch scheduled flights to Sochi, Russia, a day later and will introduce a new scheduled service between the Serbian capital and the French city of Lyon as of 3 rd June Flights along the Belgrade-Amman route wi- ll operate year-round, with three flights a week during the winter period and four flights a week throughout the rest of the year. As one of the world’s oldest continuo- usly-inhabited cities, Amman is today among the most popular destinations in the Middle East, while its ma- in attraction is the Old City, with its narrow streets and many souk bazaars. Flights will operate twice a week to Lyon, which - following Paris and Nice - becomes Air Serbia's third de- stination in France. As the country’s third largest city, lo- cated at the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône, Lyon has a long and rich history. The old part of the ci- ty, which is under UNESCO protection, represents one of the largest areas of Renaissance architecture in Europe. Recognisable for its narrow streets that were once traver- sed by silk merchants, Lyon is today a modern, urban city that’s packed with traditional restaurants and sights that transport visitors back to the period of the Renaissance. The Serbian national airline plans to operate flights twice a week between Belgrade and Sochi, with this ro-
ute providing good conne- ctions from Western Euro- pe, which currently has no direct connection to this in- ternationally popular coa- stal resort on the Black Sea. As part of the Caucasian Riviera, Sochi is one of the few places in Russia with a subtropical climate, chara- cterised by long, hot sum- mers and mild winters.
