Is there a min ister there or a Protestant?” It was a joy to hear such a good testimony. from the unsaved, and we give all the glory to God. Please continue your intercession for this work as it extends into Mexico itself, and also that He will give us many young men to train for the work down there. Pray also that God may bless all the literature we have sent to the five men we have down there; also that He will supply all the needs and thus guide us as to the plans He wants us to carry out for extending the work down there. N o o n -d a y Prayer Meeting. n p Then again we do encounter now and then the man who is really profoundly grateful, eager to take any lowly task just to be able to express his genuine gratitude. Two men walked Into Biola Hall. One had been given help to secure a Job. He had returned the next day for more money. The second pressed a ten dollar bill into our hand as he whis pered, “ Please use this to help any cases of real need which come to you. One good Samaritan has been send ing all the poor and maimed and blind to our door for several years, but never so much as felt any impulse to make it possible to meet their need; while another, thank God, follows us with his gifts and continued prayers. One who has been the recipient of many favors, slips in and relieves us of all our earthly goods; another dear soul keeps us supplied with Testaments ■and Bibles year after year. One curses us for showing an inter est in his soul's need; the other grips our hand with the tears streaming down his face and brokenly “ tries to pour out his gratitude. Just as we were pounding out these words on the machine, one man mount ed our platform at the entrance, and before a crowd of his “ pals” started a (Continued on page 360) most bitter opposition, which may turn out to be the last struggles of a soul before yielding to Christ, while your second experience may bring you in contact with one who readily agrees with everything you say, yet leaves you with the impression that nothing pre sented to him has brought heart con viction, and you are reminded of the “ man who, beholding his natural face in a glass, straightway forgets what manner of man he is.” The next tries to create the impres sion he has Just been waiting for you to talk to him about his soul and ends up with touching you for the fare to San Pedro where the “ inevitable Job awaits” him. His place is soon taken by a quiet, oversensitive soul willing to suffer al most any privation rather than let his deep need be known or place him self under an obligation he cannot see liis way to meet. A friend of mine keeps both his hands in his pockets when he is asked to pray for this class of mission frequenters, for fear every thing therein will disappear ere he ■rises. This class profess to be convert ed, shed copious tears, and then hunt up another victim, making a regular business of it, which is thoroughly organized, putting one another wise to thq-“ easy ones.” I » I j •* E a A t> i i t , « 1 • !
