FANNY CROSBY MEMORIAL At a recent meeting in the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ, in Rochester, N. Y., a “ Fanny Crosby” memorial eeryice, in honor of the blind hymn writer, was held. A musical program of Fanny Crosby’s hymns was given by the choir, consisting of solos, a duet, quartet and chorus. A short ad dress on the life of “ The Blind Hymn writer” was given by the pastor. In compliance with her request that no monument of stone be erected in her memory, an offering was taken to help erect a “ Fanny Crosby Old Folks’ Home.” A living monument to help others in providing for “ Old Folks” a home of comfort is certainly better than a cold statue to glorify self. To live on in the works that follow (Rev. 14:13) is more worthy than a glass window of memory. Kind words and kind deeds are undying in their influence. Mary lives on in her inspiring ex ample to do things out of love to Christ (John 12:1-8). Dorcas works on in her enwrap ping garments for the deserving and undeserving poor (Acts 9:36). Fanny Crosby s i n g s on in her sweet song of “ Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Moody preaches on in the real work which perpetuates his name. Spurgeon heralds f o r t h in the men who go out from the college which bears his name and who preach the same gospel which he did. Simpson ministers still in the work of The Christian and Missionary Alli ance. Mueller l i v e s on in the work of faith in the Bristol Orphan Homes. — F. E. M.
