song book. One could sing nine dif ferent hymns every Sunday in the year without repetition, if desired. The in dex is remarkable, consisting of "In dex of Hymn Tunes," “ Scripture in dex from Genesis to Revelation," “ In dex to Titles,” “ Index to First Lines,” making it unusually easy to find the particular hymn desired for any occa sion. It is without question the most desirable and satisfactory hymn book ever prepared for general Church and Sunday School services. Send for a copy and see if you do not fall in love with it. (Word & Work, Louisville, Ky.) Cloth $1.00; Paper 50c From Sunday Morning to Saturday Night, for the “ Through the Week” Girl, by Eleanor Vellacott Wood. Mrs. S. D. Gordon, In a foreword to this helpful book ,' says: “ There are •so many books. Why should another be written? Certainly the purpose is not merely to add another book; not that. But this: Out of a heart throbbing and burning with love for young peo ple who must be saved from making their present into a disturbing past, this little book travailed itself into being with real birthpangs. • * * Back of all lies that wondrous message,‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit’.” The book is artistically de signed and illustrated, and will be a real inspiration to young women, to whom it is dedicated. (Oliphaat’s) (3 /6 ) $1.25 The Bible of the Expositor and Evangelist, by W. B. Riley, D. D. The second volume of Dr. Riley’s “ Library for Preachers, Evangelists and Teach ers” is before us, and we commend it heartily, especially to young preach ers. Dr.' Riley’s purpose is to cover the whole Bible in forty volumes. His method is ideal,— i. e., preaching to the morning congregation a series of sermons which constitute a Bible Course that will familiarize them with the Word of God, and in the evening giving them an evangelistic sermon based upon some theme suggested by the morning discourse. This is Scrip- turally scientific, for the exhortation is “ Preach the Word.” Dr. Riley’s long service has eminently qualified ■him for this work, and we trust that, if the Lord tarries, he- may be able to complete it and leave to the evan gelical church this heritage. (Union Gospel Press) $1.00 per Vol. MONDAY The Second Coining of Christ, by Rev. Britton Ross, Evangelist and Pas tor. We can heartily commend this little volume. Dr. Ross was one of the first students of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and as pastor and evan gelist now holds a warm place in many hearts. God has seen fit to bless the

My ex perience with thousands, from the top of the social ladder to the bottom, re vealing the pathetic ignorance which prevails on the one hand, and the cal lous heartlessness resulting in wrecked lives and broken hearts on the other, urge me to do so. * * * I know well to what severe criticism I may lay myself open, yet if these pages bring some help to the young— whom I love— I shall be amply rewarded.” This book Bhould have a wide circulation. THE MODERN TRIANGLE By S. J. Bole Professor of Biology, Wheaton College, Illinois With an Introduction by Prof. Leander S. Keyser, of Hamnia D iv in ity S ch o o l, Wittenberg College. Dr. Keyser says: “ Pro fessor Bole has given us a good book, one o f the best yet pub lish ed on the anti-evolution side, and we hope it will have a wide reading and accomplish much good in setting forth the true doctrine con c e rn in g the world of nature, which is God’s world, and which ought to be Interpreted reverently, as under His all-seeing eye. Added force is given to the author’s argu ment by the fact that he him self was on ce caugh t in the meshes o f the e v o lu tion a ry theory, and was for a time an advocate of it.” We commend Professor Bole’s book heartily and suggest that many pastors will welcome it for their library, and paren ts will find it very h e lp fu l fo r their children o f High School and College age. Buy It. Read it. Pass it on to others and thus help to stem the tide and strengthen the cause o f Christ.
