“THE FATHER’ S HOUSE”

P ITH Y P AR A G R A PH S

God “ giyeth grace to the lowly” ; but, like Zaccheus, they had to “ come down” to receive it. — O— If a man can keep his mouth closed it is a sure sign that he could say something if'he opened it. — O— The language of some men is so "soiled” that it seems a proof that they were formed of the soil. — O— If the gossip which enters your ears finds no egress through your mouth, you can certainly be called a wise man. — O— The penitentiary is becoming so popular that many High School stud- dents are now preparing for a position there. — o — No doubt many a man’s physical life has been improved and prolonged by the golf course, but— to what ad vantage? — — The word “ reformation” used to turn our minds to heroic early days In the history of the church, but now it leads to the beauty parlor. — O— But few can hope to win earthly prizes or preferment, but every Chris.- .tian has a chance to win “ the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” — O— God put the tree in the Garden; Satan put the test to Eve. God’s sentence was “ Without pardon,” So they had the garden to leave. — O— The proper place for the Juvenile Court is in the home,— the father, the judge; the mother, the jury; both en forcing the sentence with a stick. — O— If a man could only know just when he ought to get up and speak and when he ought -to stop and sit down it would be a great relief to his lis teners. — O— The Bible says “ wisdom is the prin cipal thing; therefore, get wisdom.” But where will we get it? In the Bible, of course. It is the “ Wisdom Book.” m VICTORIOUS LIFE CONFERENCES will be held this summer as follows: Keswick, N. J., June 26 to July 2, Annual Students’ Conference. July 10 to 18, Victorious Life Con ference. July 24 to August 1, Victorious Life Conference. August 21 to 29, Victorious Life Conference. Keep your feet In the right path and you will find walking easy. — O— No man can walk the straight and narrow path with crooked feet. — O— Italy is in the hands of Mussolini, and he may make a nruqs of it. — O— Many a man is a “ down-and-outer,” because he fell for a foolish flouter. — O— The “ sob sisters” should save their sorrow for the victims of the criminal. — O— Human nature has a crook in it, and out of that crook grows the criminal. —O— If you have no straight back bone you had better go straight back home. — O— A cheerful giver is one who is happy if no one knows what he gives, but God. — O— The sign of a really great man is that he does not have to hang out any sign. — O— When you have burned your bridges behind you, keep looking straight ahead. — O— A “ straw vote” is one in which a person doesn’t care a straw which way he votes. — O— If the impress of your life is found in the lives of others, you will need no press agent. — O— No man who seeks to honor the Lord with his substance will have a barren barn. — O— A woman who sings about her house work, will not peed to sigh about the divorce court. * — O— Before the camel passed through the eye of the needle, they took the bur dens off his back.
