Searches Bag searches are carried out on a regular when you enter or leave the property. Your bag will not be removed from your possession.

Your locker may be searched at any time. There will always be 2 colleagues present during a locker search, one from Security and the other from HR or management.

If you live in company accommodation your room/apartment may be searched at any time. If this occurs there will always be 2 colleagues present, one from Colleague Services or management.

Personal body searches will only be conducted if there is reasonable suspicion of a theft or other crime being committed. A body search will only be done with your approval. Two colleagues of the same gender as you must be present during the search. You have the right to refuse a body search, but you may be advised the police will be called. Lost and Found Any money or property found on the Hotel premises must be handed immediately to the Housekeeping Office and full details noted in the Lost and Found Book.

Unclaimed items are discarded, and valuables are handed over to the police.

Loss or Damage to Your Personal Belongings You are responsible for the safe keeping of your personal belongings. The Hotel will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings regardless of where they were when lost or damaged.

Environmental Social and Governance

Shangri-La Dubai supports and encourages colleagues to contribute supporting the local community. The EMBRACE project of the hotel is the United Arab Emirates Down Syndrome Association (UAEDSA).

Colleagues can volunteer to participate in this program or other hotel’s ESG projects. Approved volunteer work can be carried out by all colleagues and up to one day full pay per calendar year. P
