The Hotel provides a well structure Annual Training Plan that has programs to enable colleagues to develop to their full potential.
Orientation Attendance to Hotel Orientation is compulsory for all new colleagues in the first two days of starting your employment with Shangri-La Dubai. Departmental Induction A departmental induction booklet will be provided to each colleague which will consist of your Job Description, Management and Divisional Inductions, the Shangri-La Experience and Service Standards and your departmental Task Competency Inventory. Your induction has to be completed within your first three months of employment and you will be guided through by a buddy/departmental trainer who will be assigned to you. Employees’ Newsletter The colleague’ newsletter – Marhaba is issued quarterly through the Human Resources Division. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep all employees informed of what is happening within the Hotel and to provide professional knowledge. You may contact Learning Department should you wish to submit any articles for the newsletter. Employees’ Counselling All colleagues will be subject to personal counselling by their Service Leader, Service Manager, Senior Service Manager or employees of the Human Resources Division from time to time. The purpose of each session is to acknowledge performance and encourage improvement in performance. Learning and Career Development You have been selected to join Shangri-La Dubai, not only because we believe you have the right attitude to delight and the passion to deliver the Shangri-La Experience towards our guests, but also for the potential you may have to grow your career within the company.
