How to avoid H&S breaches

T he FMB Standards Committee leads on health and safety matters for members by monitoring any breaches they may have committed, as well as any resulting prosecutions by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) – as these can have a devastating impact on the people and businesses involved. We advise you to access FMB support to help you avoid breaches in the first place. There are three services to be aware of: 1 General Health & Safety helpline – 0116 243 7623 : For day-to-day enquiries such as template policies and documents, or straightforward queries;

2 Specialist Health & Safety helpline – 0844 770 4407 : Speak to an experienced construction health and safety specialist. You don’t have to wait until you have a problem, you can call for advice or just to check that you are on the right track; and 3 Safety Plus – 0330 333 7777 : Call the FMB Membership Team to register for Safety Plus, the FMB’s health and safety software product developed in partnership with the Building Safety Group (BSG), the UK’s largest health and safety training group, with 50 years of experience.
