3 WAYS TO STAY SUN SAFE AND STYLISH!

Helmet Brims

ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Julie Dixon & I live near Blayney, country NSW & for as long as I can remember I have loved horses.

As an Endurance rider for many years, I was outside in the elements, getting repeatedly badly sunburnt. I didn't wear any sun protection and this took its toll causing permanent skin damage. 10 years ago I designed and developed the Helmet Brim which is now sold all over Australia and worldwide to horse riders of all disciplines. With over 30 years of industrial sewing experience and owning my own industrial machines I was able to develop and manufacture the best riding brim which fits all brands and sizes of horse riding helmets.

3 WAYS TO STAY SUN SAFE AND STYLISH!

STEP 1

If you still love your western hat but need to wear a riding helmet now. Still want all the benefits of your faithful western hat you now have an option If you haven't got a riding helmet or if you do

The best thing to do is go fit on riding helmets on and choose 1 that is most comfortable on your head and fits snugly Not to tite or lose. If you have a helmet it needs to be replaced at least every five years as the foam deteriorates over time and becomes less effective. it doesn't matter how much it's worn or stored All ASTM/SEI helmets contain a manufacturer's date with the SEI seal. If you have a hard-blow impact accident while wearing your helmet, it is recommended to immediately replace it for a new model. There may be damage to the helmet that is not visible to the naked eye.

Prevention

Wear broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen Wear a helmet brim on your riding helmet, sunglasses with UV protection as YES your eyes get sun damage also. and lightweight long-sleeved shirts and riding pants while riding Avoid the peak UV hours, usually between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can cause sunburn, skin damage, eye damage and skin cancer. Be a role model for your children grandchildren and participate in sun protection behaviors so they are more willing to do the same. STEP 4 Some sunlight can be good as long as you have proper protection from overexposure. But too much ultraviolet, or UV, exposure can cause sunburn. The UV rays penetrate outer skin layers and hit the deeper layers of the skin, where they can damage or kill skin cells. How UV damages skin
