Taxonomy alignment assessment

A double materiality assessment was carried out at Group level. As part of this, all relevant impacts, risks, and opportunities from these two analyses were identified and evaluated. No physical risks material to the Zumtobel Group’s economic activities were identified based on the climate scenarios. Actions to further mitigate risk were defined and documented in the standardised Risk Management Catalogue, and their imple- mentation was monitored.

An internal online platform is used by the Zumtobel Group to build and communicate knowledge in the specialist departments involved. It contains all informational mate- rial, links to the relevant legislation as well as documents and training videos on the EU Taxonomy plus the individual economic activities and is updated on a continuous basis. Detailed process documentation on the EU Taxonomy forms an integral part of the Zumtobel Group Accounting Manual and is continuously updated and added to. In checking and verifying Taxonomy align- ment, particular attention was paid to trans- parency, verifiability and compliance with the dual control principle when analysing data. All economic activities with relevance for the Taxonomy alignment assessment were systematically analysed and complian- ce with the technical screening criteria was reviewed. Any significant adverse effects on other environmental objectives (DNSH) and compliance with minimum social standards (MSS) were assessed.

DNSH – Sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources

Compliance with local environmental regulations under water-related legislation is managed through the integrated manage- ment system and ensured by regular internal and external audits, in particular through local regulatory monitoring measures. The Group’s main production sites are certified to ISO 14001; this certification serves as evidence of established environmental ma- nagement and control processes.

With the introduction of its Circular Design Rules, the Zumtobel Group is pursuing a clear strategy to improve recyclability, ease of dismantling and repairability in product development. The integrated management system monitors actions relating to waste prevention, waste separation, recycling rates and proper disposal. In terms of mobility, fleet management ensures compliance with legal requirements (e.g. WEEE) when leased vehicles are returned. These actions minimi- se the risk of undermining the environmental objective of a circular economy.

Climate risk and vulnerability analyses are carried out at the main production sites and were last updated in May 2025. External environmental conditions that may affect the company, including buildings, facilities, access to the site, water supply, electricity supply, and production facilities and proces- ses are reviewed as part of this analysis. In addition to looking at the current situation, the climate risk and vulnerability analysis includes a medium-term assessment for the upcoming five years and a long-term outlook spanning 20 years or more. Two climate scenarios have been applied, namely repre- sentative concentration pathways 4.5 and 8.5. The risk assessment was performed by experts at the production sites in considera- tion of local climate-related data.
