Scope 3.4 (not significant) Emissions from transportation and distribution are calculated based on the actual distances travelled, the weights trans- ported and the mode of transport used (e.g. lorry, rail, ship, air). This is achieved by multiplying the mass, distance and a transport mode-specific emissions factor. | Source of emission factor data: Exiobase 3 Scope 3.5 (not significant) Emissions from production waste are calculated on the basis of the three categories of recyclable waste, hazardous waste and residual waste. Emissions are calculated using a weight-based method with the application of waste-specific emission factors in accordance with the respective type of waste treatment. | Source of emission factor data: Ecoinvent Scope 3.6 (not significant) Emissions from business travel are calculated using a distance-based method, based on data recorded in the Group-wide travel booking system, broken down by mode of transport, i.e. flight, car or train. Since not all business segments are integ- rated into the booking system, the calculated emissions are then extrapolated from the actual travel costs paid depending on the mode of transport, in order to ensure complete coverage. | Source of emission factor data: Ecoinvent Scope 3.7 (not significant) The emissions are calculated on the basis of an employee survey to record the modes of transport used as well as the distances between home and work. Data obtained in this manner is then extrapolated to the entire workforce in order to determine the total emissions from employee commuting. The calculation is based on the costs and/or the volume transported, and the transport-related emissions from Scope 3.4 are extrapolated accordingly. | Source of emission factor data: Exiobase 3 Scope 3.10 (not significant) In order to account for the further processing of the products sold, the energy requirement for the installation of all pro- ducts sold is calculated on the assumption that they are installed using screws. An emission factor based on the European energy mix is then used to calculate the resulting emissions. | Source of emission factor data: Ecoinvent Scope 3.12 (not significant) Product-related emissions at the end of the life cycle of the products sold are calculated on the basis of the weights of the materials purchased. The underlying calculation methodology corresponds to the model used to determine end-of-life emissions, which is also applied in the preparation of EPDs.
