TRUSTED FOR EXPERT & HONEST SERVICE FOR OVER 50 YEARS

by Lee Ann Atwater

When Andrea and Darren Best took over a 25-year-old refrigeration business, they were not only taking the leap of faith into entrepreneurial - ism, but they were also taking on an established brand with a solid reputation of providing excep - tional products and services to long-time resi - dential and commercial clients for a quarter of a century, so there was a lot on the line. Not only were the Bests up for the challenge, over the last 24 years, they have been able to shift the Acadia Refrigeration brand to fit their vision, while growing the brand, in the process. The couple, along with their team, have the Kent - ville, N.S. family owned and operated company focusing on looking after their customer’s needs for the next 50 years and beyond. It is interesting how our business careers some - times come full circle to show us where we always belonged. Darren’s first start as a technician was with Acadia Refrigeration and the previous owner. As with most people wanting to take the jump into entrepreneurialism, deciding to start or purchase a business did not come easily for either Darren or Andrea.

A cadia Refrigeration & Air Conditioning has been operating for over a half century pro- viding knowledgeable, professional, and personal service for their Industrial, Residential, Commercial, Recreation and Retail customers. Darren and Andrea Best purchased the company in 1997 and are proud to have built the fami- ly-owned business into one of the largest refrig- eration companies in the region, specializing in refrigeration and air conditioning projects of all shapes and sizes including geothermal projects.
