A seemingly straightforward endeavor, yet one that demands skill to draw together and connect children from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to broaden their horizons and forge new bonds, beginning at camp and enduring for a lifetime.
This is regarded as a hallmark experience of our camp. At SMART-i camp, we cultivate an environment that fosters the discovery of new knowledge and the exploration of one's own emotions, specifically: It is a welcoming environment, where dedication is cherished and the focus is not on rivalry among campers.
Foundational insights for embarking on the journey of observing celestial wonders. Young explorers will discover the significance of direction, degrees, and the rich vocabulary that adorns the realm of astronomy. They will master the art of utilizing equipment, navigating star maps, understanding directions, and witnessing the majestic rise and fall of the sun and moon, along with the enchanting phases of the moon, constellations, and the zodiac. Delightful stargazing will weave together the threads of science and art, enriched by tales drawn from mythology and the inspiring stories of the relentless spirit of renowned astronomers in Thailand and across the globe.
The pinnacle of this camp is the enchanting experience of spending the evening gazing at the stars through a telescope, immersing ourselves in tales of mythology and the inspiring narratives of scientists who are resolutely committed to validating their beliefs through the lens of scientific principles. And... as the night air grows cooler, we have crafted a delightfully cozy snack: hot milk with marshmallows, accompanied by grilled Japanese sweet potatoes. Simply cradling them in your hands brings a sense of warmth. When you break them open, the steam rises, and the enticing aroma is so inviting that it's nearly impossible to resist a taste.

The eight activity stations are crafted to inspire children to discover the joy in taking action consistently, all while wearing a smile. Why is this important? It may seem off-topic, but many of you have likely witnessed your children performing on stage in kindergarten, haven’t you? We observe the synchronized movements, yet the expressions on their faces often reveal worry rather than joy. What is the purpose if children engage in challenging activities devoid of enthusiasm? What is the purpose if they return home to their daily routines without a smile? True success begins with Chanda and flourishes with Viriya, just as Grit is an essential component of the Four Foundations of Success.

Children must embrace the art of sacrificing personal joy for aspirations that transcend their individual selves, cultivating gratitude for both themselves and their teammates. It is through direct experiences that they will learn, focusing not solely on the enjoyment of the activities, but on the deeper lessons they impart.
San Paolo Sanctuary In the annals of Thai history, the first observatory emerged during the illustrious reign of King Narai the Great in 1687. This remarkable structure was part of a sacred complex, a harmonious blend of religious edifices and an observatory, skillfully managed by French Jesuit priests. However, following the conclusion of King Narai's reign, the observatory fell into disuse, its brilliance dimmed by time. Nestled to the east of the palace, it stands on the outer edge of the inner moat, a silent witness to the past. The name Wat San Paulo likely draws its inspiration from a Jesuit monastery located in a Portuguese village in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, once known in Portuguese as "Sao Paulo" and later beautifully translated into Thai as "San Paulo."
Amazing Race A unique adventure where the children are tasked with managing their "budget" to acquire and purchase ingredients from actual vendors, enabling them to prepare delicious meals for their friends at the camp. A group of children approached the vendor with bright eyes and said, "Auntie, I would like to purchase three chili peppers." The vendor paused in surprise, then gathered a handful of chili peppers and placed them in a bag, smiling as she replied, "Auntie won't ask for payment." Wow, you are truly courageous, Smart-I kid. Once all the ingredients are collected, it's time for the entire team to come together and create the meal as envisioned.
Honoring even the tiniest strides is vital to the adventure of existence. It serves as a powerful means to invigorate both yourself and your teammates. SMART-i cherishes the spirit of celebration, which is why we host a party where every child gains insights from the Final Stage of each camp.
Celebrate All Win
A joyful celebration with kindred spirits would embody the essence of this gathering. Yet, sadly, this would mark the final evening the children would unite as a team. There would be a few tears.
DEBRIEF Learning from the lessons and sustaining the camp's momentum after the students depart is essential. Continuous self-growth flourishes when students integrate the knowledge gained at camp into their everyday lives, embracing the art of expressing genuine gratitude, heartfelt apologies, and uplifting encouragement to those around them. This journey empowers students to rise and transform into valuable contributors to society.
Auction Recognizing their efforts inspires them to persevere. The children will auction off tokens they've earned from their participation since the very beginning. We have witnessed sportsmanship, experienced tears of determination, observed growth from mistakes, and seen kids show compassion, with some even donating items to less fortunate friends from nearby schools.
Empowering Parents Workshop Because the majority of children develop and flourish within the nurturing embrace of their homes. We will foster collaborative learning, exchange experiences, and offer parents engaging hands-on activities, mirroring their children's experiences, to sustain, enhance, and propel our momentum forward. Teacher Gap warmly invites parents to extend their children's learning journey from the camp...into the comfort of their homes.
