A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 12

It has been wonderful meeting our new cohort of Year 12 students. We had a lovely Induction day, where students met their new form tutors and peers. Students took part in ice breaker games and team building games, which we hope they all enjoyed.

All students seem to have settled into Sixth Form life very well and I have been hearing lots of praise from subject teachers impressed with how they have transitioned from GCSE to A Levels. Keep up the great work! There are a number of extra curricular clubs already starting up. This is a perfect opportunity for students to try something new this year. Click here to view the Autumn 2023 extracurricular timetable. All parents and carers of Sixth Form students are invited to attend an information evening taking place next week on Tuesday 19 September. The talk will commence at 5pm so ask that you start arriving from 4.45pm. We expect this meeting to finish no later than 6pm. We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Please note that the deadline for students to change any of their current subject courses is Friday 22 September. We hope that these first couple of weeks into the term have provided students with a thorough idea of what to expect from their chosen courses and aid them in deciding whether it is right for them. Once the deadline passes there will not be any further opportunities to change over.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This book is written from the perspective of Charlie through letter entries, following him and his friends through their challenging navigation through high school and life. It’s a moving and honest story.

DRAMA DEPARTMENT SUPPORT

Please can we kindly ask for parents/carers picking up and dropping off their children in cars to be considerate of the neighbourhood and their street policies in place for parking. You may incur a Penalty Charge Notice if you are found to be contravening the on street parking restrictions. PARKING NOTICE FROM THE COUNCIL

We are really excited to be rehearsing our latest school production, Annie. As ever parental support would be very much appreciated. In particular we hope someone may have a free standing door frame with a door in it to donate as part of the set design. The help of a theatre lighting expert to offer specialist advice would also be very welcome.
