The UWI Mona Campus Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremonies

Congratulations to all the Graduates of the Class of 2023!

Congratulations to the Class of 2023. Universities produce mavericks, entrepreneurs, public and private sector professionals, educators, financiers, IT & AI specialists, health & wellness professionals, scientists, engineers,

communicators, marketers, innovators and many more types of experts – who all lead each generation of their nations, and also influence and shape the futures of thousands of citizens. Class of 2023, as graduates, you represent The UWI’s richest potential and you are our greatest product! However, I must point out that you have big shoes to fill as you are entering the workforce after 75 years of UWI graduates who have already helped to build the Caribbean nations you are inheriting. However, it is your time now! We trust that you will create societies and legacies that you will enjoy as you build them, and also that you will be proud to leave behind for the next generation, as you take your UWI experience and knowledge into your various professional spheres. I encourage you to look to the future with hope, purpose, vision and passion. I am honoured to salute you all and your achievements today and I do so with immense Pelican Pride . As a fellow UWI graduate, I am delighted to officially welcome you to the UWI Graduate Family and to bring you special congratulations on behalf of the wider global alumni population. Please always remain involved with your alma mater whether through: the Pelican Perks Advantage Programme which allows you to get discounts at stores and businesses via your UWI Alumni Association (UWIAA) Chapter membership; by contributing stories of your achievements and innovations via the UWI Nexus and UWI Connect publications or the Global UWI Alumni Hub (uwiglobalalumnihub.com); the Soft and Life Skills Webinars; the Alumni Engagement Programme; or E-Mentorship, by sharing your knowledge and experiences with students and young graduates. Your University celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year. Your relationship with The UWI is extremely important to us, so please remain engaged with your alma mater and explore the many ways you can share your expertise with our future alumni: our students, by contacting the Campus Alumni Relations Officers or myself. Importantly, Global UWI Alumni Day 2024 will be special, and even more so, if you are participants. Therefore, please plan on being involved on JUNE 26, 2024 . Being a part of Generation Z, I believe that, as UWI graduates, you will help to create stable, productive Caribbean societies, and collectively work to protect our region from challenges like climate change, global pandemics and other obstacles.
