Student Life Words of Wisdom

Todd Kinzer Dean of Students

I heard a quote recently that you will become an average of your five closest friends. This is such a thought-provoking statement, and it is close to the ancient statement of Solomon, who wrote, ‘He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed’ (Proverbs 13:20). Ironically, the King did not follow his own advice, and his closest companions destroyed him (1 Kings 11:1-4). The lesson: No matter your age, gender, or nationality, few factors will have a bigger influence on your life than the friends you choose. Choose wisely, my friends!!

I have never regretted a day where I chose to walk in obedience to Jesus. However, there have been many moments where I wish that I would have. It’s worth it to love Jesus with your life.
