Dear Students,
This past year has been a personal highlight for my family and me, and it’s been a year of many firsts. This was my first year leading the Bible Institute, and looking back on the year brings many thoughts and memories to mind. Seeing so many of you on opening weekend ready to experience your first year of college or ready to jump back into your second year fueled a fire in my heart to live by a statement that I often used this year: Let’s make much of Jesus! Over the course of this year, many of you also experienced many firsts. Sharing the Gospel with someone and seeing them say yes to Jesus was a first. Preparing for a theology exam was a first. Living in a dorm and learning to live in community was a first. Having a discipleship partner in your life asking you hard questions was definitely a first for many. Serving in Snowcamp and Summer Camp was an experience full of firsts. With a year of so many firsts, I trust that you have learned at the Word of Life Bible Institute who should be first in your life: Jesus. Build on the foundation you have laid here, and in every situation and sphere of influence you find yourself in, make much of Jesus! My life verse is Philippians 1:6, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” I exhort you to remember to be confident in God, the One who began this good work in you.
