Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2018

Back For More

Eric attended first year in Florida. He had no idea what to expect, but he wasn’t afraid. He leaned towards a heart of excitement over witnessing God’s work in him throughout the year ahead. He was eager to be taught by the multitude of professors. He appreciates that the classes are life/ministry applicable. As the year grew on, so did the value he placed on everyday work. Service assignments taught him what it meant to labor for Christ and take joy in doing so. Eric had decided to attend second year during Missions Conference. That was when his heart broke. He saw the need to have the gospel shared. He came to the conclusion that he would go to second year and then attend Word of Life’s Cross Cultural internship (CCI). He would like to do CCI in Uganda. Having been on the mission field for ten years in Manila, Philippines with his family, he knows...“There’s a lot that you give up, but a lot more to gain.” He is once again leaning towards excitement in witnessing more and more of God’s moving around him and in him to prepare him for this next step of his walk of faith. Eric Charlie Charlie did not take his relationship with the Lord very seriously until after Camp Crew at The Pines. He grew up aware of this little nook in the Adirondacks. On the Camp Crew team, he was permitted opportunities to see the importance of having your life’s foundation being in the Word and a personal relationship with Christ. Being in the position he was gave him chances to exercise his faith. Those years pushed him to see his need for depth. Coming here to Word of Life first year, Charlie thought he’d just come for one year then attend art school. The Lord rocked his perspective on ministry. Charlie was a Resident Assistant and a member of one of the bands. Being a part of those two ministries throughout his first year taught him how fruitful serving others really is. Throughout last year he had a good number of people come alongside him. They encouraged him to pray about going into ministry. Since he is a teachable guy; he prayed. He has a new desire to dive into ministry. He saw coming to second year as the best way to develop skills in taking what he learned first year and applying it to real life ministry opportunities given in second year. Audrey has familial connections to Word of Life. Her parents have been students. Her two older siblings have been too. Audrey is from California, so this move was a nerve-wracking one for her. She came not knowing what to expect, even though her immediate family has been through this campus before her. Her family had attended two years of the BI. Audrey was worried about how to pay for first year’s expenses and wasn’t sure if she’d come to second year. Though she had her concerns and uncertainties, the Lord was faithful to listen...and He was faithful to answer. He calmed her fears and powerfully provided for her to be able to attend the BI. Yes, she wasn’t sure if she’d end up attending second year, but she had a pretty solid hunch considering the whole family chose to come to second year too. In May, she made her final decision and chose to stay, just as her family had done. She recognized her need to grow and develop in ministry. Audrey
