Kantorczyk to address the emerging air quality issues associated with natural gas dev. DVGBC board elects Gotanda of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP

DVGBC is the primary point of contact for users, agencies, and com- panies interested in sustain- able communities and is a leader in fostering cooperation and collaboration among orga- nizations dedicated to environ- mentally responsible practices in the building industry. The objective of implementing green building practices is to improve site planning; to safeguard water and ensure its efficient use; to maximize

energy efficiency, conserve materials and resources and insure indoor environmental quality. Gotanda is co-chair of the MGKF Sustainability prac- tice and is a LEED Accred- ited Professional (LEED AP). She represents and counsels clients on a broad range of environmental, energy, land use, and health and safety issues in regulatory compli- ance, transactional, permit- ting, and enforcement mat- ters. Her practice includes green building, alternative energy and energy efficiency, sustainability programs, due

diligence, brownfield rede- velopment, water and waste compliance, spill response, and site remediation. Gotanda serves as chair of the Radnor Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) . She is also a founder and di- rector emeritus of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals of Greater Philadelphia (SWEP) . Go- tanda has served as co-chair of the Environmental Law Committee of the Philadel- phia Bar Association and as a member of the board of direc- tors of the Friends of the Japa- nese House and Garden in Fairmount Park. She earned her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law and her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Boston College. In other news, Todd Kan- torczyk , apartnerwithMGKF will address the emerging air quality issues associated with natural gas development at a Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) program on November 28, 2012. The seminar en- titled, “The Environment and Natural Gas Development” brings together industry lead- ers to discuss the environ- mental concerns arising from natural gas development in Pennsylvania, and how vari- ous government entities regu- late aspects of natural gas op- erations, including hydraulic fracturing, water withdrawals and discharges, and related air emissions. Kantorczyk will speak at the Philadelphia program on November 28, from 9 am to 1:15 pm, being held at the Wanamaker Building, 100 Penn Square, E., 10th Floor, Ste. 1010. At MGKF, Kantorczyk fo- cuses his practice on litigation and regulatory compliance counseling, covering a wide range of national, state and local environmental programs, including issues related to nat- ural gas development in the Marcellus Shale. He is a mem- ber of the ABA Committee on Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Ecosystems. Kantorczyk received his Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in government from Cornell University. n
