“The café is a nice, quiet, and peaceful environment. And coffee is amazing.” MAE KOLLN
The possibilities of what can be accomplished over a good, hot cup of coffee are nearly endless. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise when one walks into the Café and sees study groups scattered all about the room, huddled over books or laptops and sipping steamy lattes. From long discussions about interesting classes to listening through books on Logos, the Café always provides a quiet and peaceful spot for students to get their work done while spending time together and learning and growing as a body. In today’s society, coffee is becoming less of a social beverage and more of an energy drink that we chug down before anyone dares to talk to us. We students feel this shift more than anybody, as late nights of studying and early morning classes can leave us yawning and trying to motivate ourselves not to take a “power nap” during class (hey, we’ve all done it at some time or another). However, coffee still has such a special way of bringing people together for fellowship. Certain settings are simply incomplete unless there is a hot cup of coffee! I suppose the same could be said of the Gospel. The Gospel unites us. It draws us together and creates fellowship between us as believers. It even keeps us going when we’re worn out, tired, and ready to quit. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” And hey, a cup of coffee doesn’t hurt either!
“My favorite thing to do in the cafe is study with friends, grab a cup of coffee, study more, and grab more coffee!” JOSHUA TAYLOR
