Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2019

quebec trip The Quebec trip was seven days that focused on ministering to every age group. This included helping with AWANA, working with both youth groups and young adult groups, and singing at a nursing home in both French and English. Those on this trip were able to stay at the Word of Life campus in Quebec and get to know the students there. The team was also involved in Open Air Evangelism in the French language, alongside student translators from the Word of Life campus. Early on in the trip, the group was able to get a sense of the lost state of Quebec, with people who have little to no concept of who Jesus is, as they visited a cathedral and developed an understanding of the culture and belief system in Quebec. The team was able to spread Christ’s love and the joy of being His child everywhere they went! Israel Trip The Israel trip was a ten-day intensive study tour of Israel and its historical locations that form the backdrop for the Biblical narrative. For nearly every location visited on this trip, a reference could be looked up that would address that exact spot. The students visited 4-5 places per day, allowing them to see a total of 51 sites over the course of the trip. The students stayed on the Sea of Galilee for the first four days, then at a youth hostel, and lastly in the old city of Jerusalem. They traveled by bus for the first half and mostly walked for the second half. Some of the most memorable parts of the trip included a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and the incredible opportunity to literally walk where Jesus walked. Wayumi trip Wayumi was a one-week program designed to help students learn about and prepare for tribal missions in other parts of the world. It consisted of classes in the morning that focused in on unreached people groups along with language studies and cultural differences, highlighting God’s desire to see all people reached with the Gospel. Each day also included activities in the afternoon, followed by presentations in the evening. God’s Word was consistently opened and testimonies of personal experiences in tribal work were shared, helping the students to see the need for and value of tribal missions. renegade tour The Renegade tour consisted of two music teams who traveled to different parts of both the east coast and the midwest. These teams led meetings that included a time of worship and a Gospel message and were able to build relationships with youth and families at schools and church events. Each of the tours lasted nine days and led to the building of many new friendships through intentional conversations and sharing the hope of the Gospel.
