What happens when you’re driving and you take your eyes off the road to stare at something off to the side? You inevitably begin to drift in the direction where you’re looking! Many terrible accidents have happened because drivers didn’t stay focused on the road ahead. That’s precisely the danger facing every follower of Christ. There is so much to distract and to draw our attention away from Him and the eternal rewards which await those who faithfully run the race of faith. We start eyeing the temporary pursuits and pleasures of this world and slowly begin to drift off course. Before you know it, we’re careening toward heartache and loss. Dear friends, I urge you to pay close attention to the road that God lays out before you. Do whatever it takes to keep your eyes on Christ and on His Word. Look for His guidance in ev- ery step you take and He will direct you to a finish line with far greater reward than anything this world can give you.

You’ve heard me say it many times:

“Jesus is a Good Shepherd and He always leads us well.”

Follow His lead all the way to the correct Finish Line!

Mark Strout Executive Dean, Professor Florida Bible Institute

together, students create a special bond that only comes about through sharing a mutual passion for serving their Creator! This year we had the privilege of ministering to people of all walks of life. From serving those within our own community to reaching people overseas, we have had the opportunity to show the Love of God to those nearby and far away. We pray that students will not only view ministry as something that you do, but, rather, a mindset and a lifestyle that should be reflected in our everyday life!

One of the most vital parts of the Bible Institute experience is the opportunity to be consistently involved in ministry. Through serving on a ministry team, students are able to get a feel for what ministry looks like as well as to gain valuable experience they can carry with them after their academic journey. While serving

One of the unique ministry opportunities our students had this fall was to help make Reverb happen! Through this action-packed, all-night event, students in local churches were able to invite their unsaved friends to not only have a lot of fun, but also to hear the life-changing message of the gospel! Our students helped by running rally games, operating inflatables, coordinating activities, and counseling students! Throughout the night, our students had the chance to interact with and minister to attendees! And after a long night of service, we all enjoyed our Reverb-induced hibernation!

PURSUIT CAMP

34

The highlight of our ministry in the spring semester was Pursuit Camp! Our students had the amazing opportunity to minister to hundreds of students. We served in multiple different ways during the camp season, and every role that was played enabled the life-changing ministry of camp to take place!

Some served as camp counselors, unit leaders, and running the activities which allowed them to be able to interact directly with campers, while others served behind the scenes on operations and support staff to keep camp running! Through camp we learned that in order to make ministry happen, everyone must play their part well and serve with excellence in the role they have been given. We were able to watch students cross over from death to life and to challenge them to take the life-changing message of the gospel back home with them and to share it with their friends and family.
