Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2017

Esco told us about some his of favorite parts about what he does...

“My favorite part about doing this is seeing the confidence in my guys’ faces after the haircut. I won’t say a name but I remember specially last year when this shy dude came into my shop with a bush on his head. After the haircut and after styling it up for him, he was very impressed. Just by talking to him and giving him a clean cut boosted up this guy’s self-esteem. He ended up being a well-liked guy and a stud by the end of the year! I can’t take the credit, because it’s all Jesus in the works, but I was glad to be a part of it! Other than making the guys look good I just love chatting it up with them! Difinitely the best thing about being a barber!” While Esco has had an amazing time doing his business here, he plans on continuing this career path. He is a licensed barber. He worked at a barbershop back home before coming here, but his spot was filled once he left for school. So as of right now he’s praying that a spot will open up once again. His barber/boss Jeff is a Christian himself. Esco told us about his boss... “He’s such a solid dude and every time he cuts my hair we have great conversations about God and life. I believe that God wants me there one day so Jeff and I can be a great witness to the clients walking in and out of the shop. But I do dream of owning my own shop one day, Lord willing! If that is the case, I will make sure to do my best to show Jesus to every single person who steps into my shop!” Esco is very thankful for the opportunity he has to have a unique ministry here at the BI. He wanted to let you all know.. “I would just like to thank everyone who has supported my ministry either by coming by to get a cut or just to chat it up in the shop, and for those who spread the word about ‘Esco’s cutz’! Also, I would love to thank my roommates for allowing me to have the spare bedroom in order to make the shop even start. And I’m talking about my last year roommates as well! I love every single one of you and I just want to encourage you by saying that you can glorify God in your talents and passions. I don’t care if your talent is cleaning and it involves cleaning toilets! You clean that toilet in the name of Jesus! Do ALL for the glory of God and love one another like Jesus loves US! Romans 16:27- ‘To the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.’” Thanks for everything you have done for us, Esco. God has a great plan for your future!
