Alzheimer Society launches Minds in Motion program
With growing evidence linking a socially, physically and mentally active lifestyle in helping people to live better with demen- tia, the Alzheimer Society of Cornwall and District has launched its Minds in Motion program to local residents throughout the five counties - the first will be starting in Cornwall thismonth.TheMinds inMotion program combines exercise and intellec- tual stimulation. The programwill include up to 60minutes of physical exercise led by a trained physi- cal activity program leader, and up to 60 minutes of mentally stimulating activities facilitated by a program coordinator. Pour que vous sortiez vivant Dans le cadre du programme « Sortez Vivant », les pompiers des Services des incendies de Clarence-Rockland effectueront des visites à domicile prochainement dans certains secteurs de la Cité de Clarence-Rockland,, pour faire la vérification des avertisseurs de fumée et de monoxide de carbone. Le conseil municipal de Clarence-Rockland a adopté une résolution plus tôt cette semaine, le lundi 2 octobre, demandant à l’administration de préparer un rapport afin de recommander une source de financement pour effectuer des travaux de revêtement d’une couche éraflée (scratch coat) sur le croissant Campeau. Cette décision fait suite à la remise d’une pétition concernant les mauvaises conditions des rues Campeau et Saint-Jacques. Celle-ci a été signée par plus de 200 personnes. The $20 fee per participant co- vers registration costs for the duration of the course, which is eight consecutive weeks. Care partners are to register along with the person who is living with dementia. “We heard from people living with de- mentia in the early stages, that they wanted to connect with other people who are living a similar journey and that they wanted to be active in exercise and in intellectual stimula- tion,” explained Vaillancourt. “Now, we have been granted the opportunity to offer Minds in Motion to meet this request.” Trouver des fonds pour réparer le croissant Campeau
