First graders know everything about Christmas
thinking, but they can be pretty creative at times with their expla- nations. We hope you enjoy the views from the smaller set.
Sometimes the answers wander a bit, but it’s all in fun as the kids look forward to a special day with family and friends. First graders don’t always have the words to describe what they are
they are the experts. The students this season are from Jefferson and Buffalo schools. Questions revolve around what Christmas is about and various as- pects about Christmas Day.

What is Christmas about: A holiday. What do we celebrate: Christmas. Best pres- ent you gave: A watch to my brother. Best gift you got: A Nerf gun with 100 bullets with that and I shoot my brother. Who started Christmas tree thing: My mom.
What is Christmas about: Jesus’s birth. Where was he born: In a stable. What is a stable: It’s where ani- mals stay and eat and that’s their home. Best gift you gave: A heart to believe in Jesus. What is a manger: It’s like a bed, but it has hay in it.

What is Christmas about: Jesus’s birthday. Where was he born: I know it was in the sky. Best gift you ever got: A tablet. Mine broke though.
What is Christmas about: Spending time with everybody. What do we do at Christ- mas: You enjoy the things you love and we give to others. Best present you got: Prob- ably a skateboard. I don’t skate at the skate park yet. I just skate back and forth on my sidewalk. I’m getting pretty good.

What is Christmas about: Santa giving gifts. Best gift you ever got: A phone. But my brother broke it so I’m getting another one. Who started Christmas tree thing: Santa. Who is Santa: Nicholas. Have you ever seen him: No, but I have seen him in lots of movies. What are reindeer: Reindeer.
What is Christmas about: A happy new year. What happens on Christmas: Santa brings you presents. Who is Santa: A per- son who has a red suit, a long white beard, reindeer are pulling his sleigh and he says, “Ho, ho, ho.” Favor- ite thing to eat for Christmas: Bacon and mashed potatoes.
What is Christmas about: Love and friends. What are we celebrating: Christ- mas. Whose birthday: God’s. What do you eat: My favorite is probably my grand- ma’s biscuits. I put butter and jelly on them. Best present you ever got: My lizard. It was a fake lizard with different colors on it.
