TOURISM TASMANIA
John Fitzgerald - CEO
This winter it’s critical that we do as much as we can to encourage visitation to the state and support the continuing recovery of the tourism and hospitality industry. Tourism Tasmania is currently planning its biggest ever winter campaign aimed at showcasing the distinct experiences on offer in Tasmania during the cooler months. Our marketing program will harness the competitive edge we have over other states and showpeople thatwinter isaseasonworthembracing, rather than escaping. To ensure we can leverage the greatest share of voice in the domestic market, we are encouraging Tasmania’s tourism and hospitality operators to get behind winter and offer our visitors an anti-ordinary experience during the cooler months (May-August). Opportunity to get involved in Tourism Tasmania’s Winter Program You can join us in sharing Tasmania’s winter offering with the rest of Australia. Your business may have an offering which could appeal to the senses in winter, or you might invent something different, especially for the winter season. If you’re interested in joiningus inpositioningTassieas a ‘must do’ winter experience, we invite you to submit an expression of interest at www.tourismtasmania. com.au Your participation will include: •A special listing on discovertasmania.com.au •A toolkit and winter symbol for use in your business and marketing activity •An opportunity for inclusion in Tourism Tasmania’s winter campaign activity
Get in quick because the earlier you submit an EOI, the greater the potential opportunities for inclusion. Tourism Tasmania is focussed on driving demand in winter to support industry during the low-season, and we have a number of programs underway to generate visitation and demand including our Come Down for Air campaign, with touring now integrated in the domestic market. We are also campaigning in New Zealand and looking forward to welcoming more Kiwis to our beautiful state on Air New Zealand’s new direct flight service between Auckland and Hobart. Flights will commence as soon as quarantine-free travel between Australia and New Zealand is agreed and borders are reopened. Last month, we launched a newmarketing campaign to encourage golfers from across the country to test their abilities on Tasmania’s world-class golf courses. The half-price flights to Tassie that were announced as part of the Australian Government’s Tourism Stimulus Package will provide even more incentive to enticegolfers across the country to travel toTasmania for their next golfing holiday. The campaign also includes special packages and deals with conversion partners, featured on the campaign website www.discovertasmania.com.au/ golf. This is just a snapshot of the work we have underway to support the continuing recovery of our visitor economy.
