They must be fed daily. Hence, they are forever looking for stories. (Something to eat). A ‘quirky’ story is more likely to get their attention than a bland one. For example National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day falls on the 12th of April. Perhaps your media story could be you are intending to build the biggest grilled cheese sandwich in the world! Involve your staff in a think tank on this. Invite people to come and see and eat the world’s biggest cheese sandwich. And make sure you give the ‘leftovers’ to a charity.
•Social media: Of course you tell this story to all your social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram on YouTube and to your database. •QR codes: The use of QR codes is going to explode in post pandemic times. Prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic only a small percentage of the world’s population knew what a QR code was, even though they have been around since 1994. Now, because we have to ‘check-in’ at any location we go to, the entire world now knows about QR codes. So think about using QR codes in your marketing. e.g. On business cards; menu’s; mail-outs; wall posters; invitations and social media .
