As we all travel the path to a ‘new normal’, it is important to be patient and kind to one another. Operation of services in our facilities are approached in alignment with Public Health Orders and in accordance with BC’s Restart Plan, WorkSafeBC and industry-specific guidelines. Service delivery and policies are subject to change to meet evolving COVID-19 regulations. Please know that we will do our best to provide clear information regarding changes to services as they becomes available. All services offered have been modified to meet current COVID-19 safety requirements. While a facility may be open, not all services or amenities may be available. It is important to review all service and safety information in this guide and to visit our website regularly for updates prior to registering. We want you to be fully informed and prepared to participate safely. As always, our staff are here to help guide you through new requirements and can answer questions you may have. ACCESS & INCLUSION OPPORTUNITES Financial Assistance The Parks and Recreation Financial Assistance Program is designed to help residents participate in year-round active living. Eligible residents are entitled to a 50% fee discount on some registered programs. Sorry, memberships and passes are not eligible during COVID-19. For full details and to apply for Financial Assistance visit: newwestcity.ca/access $2.00 Value Activities Parks and Recreation offers select Reserved Drop-in activities with a reduced $2.00 admission fee to encourage participation and promote a ‘Try It’ experience for swimming, skating, fitness, sports and more. If you have participated in any registered programs or have had a membership pass with Parks and Recreation within the last three years, you already have an online recreation account! If you’re experiencing login issues, missing credits or just have questions about the system, call a recreation facility to get help from a friendly staff member. One-to-One Program Support Parks and Recreation is not currently offering one-to-one support in programs. If you require the ability to bring your own support person (an outside organization or acquain - tance) to accompany you to a program or reserved drop-in, please call the facility you wish to attend in advance to ar- range. All support persons must register in advance (at no charge) in order to be accounted at this time due to capac- ity restrictions at our facilities. COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS & POLICY

Participation Conditions and Requirements

Screening Requirement For your safety and the safety of others, all participants in Parks and Recreation services, programs or spaces must be in good health. To help ensure this, as part of the registra- tion process and daily checks on applicable services, you will be asked: 1. Do you have any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, shortness of breath, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, loss of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue or loss of appetite? 2. Are you or anyone you are living with either sick or quarantined? Any person answering yes (on behalf of themselves or a dependent) will not be able to participate and will be re- quired to stay at home. In addition, if any person is exhibit - ing signs of illness, they will be required to leave any Parks and Recreation service or space. In either case, a refund (as applicable) will be granted. Exclusion: services involv- ing digital participation. Participants must agree to and follow all staff direction, post- ed signage, registration requirements, and criteria in the registration confirmation. In addition, Parks and Recreation is required to create a Healthy Participation Policy as well as a COVID-19 Safety Plan and Policy to guide our services and safety requirements: newwestcity.ca/safetyplans Each source of information is designed to meet Provincial Health Officer requirements, as well as other regulatory au - thorities’ requirements, all in support of your safety. As CO - VID-19 evolves, so may the requirements and safety needs. Common measures to reduce the potential of contracting or spreading COVID-19 include:

COVID-19 has led to a number of Provincial requirements and new department policies and requirements to help ensure your safety when participating in Parks and Rec- reation service and spaces. In order to participate in a structured, free or paid service, you will need to agree to new COVID-19 policies, risk consent, and screening re- quirements during the sales process and when participating. Informed Consent With the following understandings, and in order to par- ticipate in New Westminster Parks and Recreation Ser- vices, I accept on behalf of myself or my dependents, the following; I. By participating in New Westminster Parks and Recreation programs, services and/or visiting your indoor or outdoor spaces, I am at risk of contracting COVID-19, in spite of any precautions taken by me or by New Westminster Parks and Recreation; II. COVID-19 is a highly infectious disease and is easily transmitted between people who may or may not show signs of illness; III. COVID-19 can infect people of all ages, regardless of health status, and is potentially fatal; and IV. Masks may be mandatory and are recommended.

SWIMMING ONLY DETAIL • Reserved drop in swimmers go to their assigned deck area and claim a chair and storage bin • Leave your non-valuable belongings in your bin and head to your reserved pool space using the directional arrows • Please leave the outside lanes for swimmers with physical limitations • NEW! Swimmers may access the Tot Pool (priority given to young children and parents) or the Hot Tub (for ages 15+) for a maximum of 10 minutes. Due to capacity limitations these areas may or may not be available for you to access during your reserved booking • NEW! Limited mats and toys will be available in the Tot pool and Leisure pools FITNESS CENTER ONLY DETAIL • Please bring your own refillable water bottle (bottle refilling stations are available) • Soft equipment is not available (i.e. thigh bands, squat bar pads, medicine balls and some cable attachments) • Clean all fitness equipment, before and after each use, using the disinfectant spray bottles provided, please re turn the bottles to their storage location • All fitness stations have a 20 minute time limit • The deck fitness areas have limited capacity Deep End Leisure Swimming Available during select days and times. Some diving boards will be available. PFDs (Personal Floatation De- vices) for children are available upon request with parent/ guardian supervision. Pool depth 6 - 15 feet. Kickboards are available. Hot Tub & Tot Pool Access NEW! Swimmers may access the Tot Pool (priority given to young children and parents) or the Hot Tub (for ages 15+) for a maximum of 10 minutes. What to know before you go: VISITING CANADA GAMES POOL – FITNESS OR SWIMMING • All visits require pre-purchases (registered program or reserved drop in) using the sales information on page 5 • Physical distancing of 2 metres is required at all times • NEW! All bookings are 1 hour in duration • Arrive 10 minutes before your prepaid booking to allow for COVID-19 screening and check-in for Swimming & Fitness • NEW! Arrive dressed to swim or exercise due to limited change room capacity. Change rooms are available during your reserved booking and 15 minutes afterwards • Use hand sanitizer upon entry • Follow all signage and staff direction • Lockers are not available, leave valuables at home. Please select a storage bin by your reserved booking pool location for your personal belongings. Small bins are available up in the Fitness Centre for personal belongings. If you have a bag, please keep it by your workout station. • Notify a Lifeguard with any first aid or accessibility needs • Promptly leave the facility after your service is over to allow for cleaning and the next group of customers • If you have a back to back booking (e.g. fitness centre and swimming lanes) you must exit the building after your first booking and lineup outside for you next booking Deep & Shallow Aquafit Classes provide a low-impact workout to improve cardio and strength. What to know before you go: • Doors open 10 minutes prior to the start of your class. • Please follow staff member into the building. • Place belongings in cubby, or leave with parent. • Line up for health check. • Hand will be sanitized prior to class. • Child will be placed on a designated spot to sit and wait for class to begin. • At this time parents must leave via the side door. • Hands will be sanitized at the end of class. • Parents will be able to enter at the end of class to pick up their child. • Leave promptly!

Remember to come to class only when healthy! • Instructors will be wearing masks and will be sanitizing their hands upon starting each class, and before and in between spotting any participants. • Classes are smaller this session with a 4:1 ratio • We have increased our cleaning so that we are wiping our equipment at the end of a rotation, after each class and at the end of the day • Masks are expected to be worn while in all indoor areas except when participants are on the gym floor.
