Actega, Gallus Strengthen Ecoleaf Partnership Actega and Gallus have strengthened their partnership to integrate Ecoleaf on-demand metallization technology with the Gallus One digital printing platform, expanding their two- year collaboration that began at the Gallus Experience Center. The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) has made updates to the APR Design for Recyclability Recognition Program, adding new pack- aging components that are now eligible for Preferred Design Recog- nition (PDR) and a new tool to simplify the submission process. This program helps component and packaging manufacturers meet clients’ goals for recyclable packaging, providing third-party validation that

a package or packaging component’s design is compatible with the North American recycling system. PDR is now available for the follow- ing new items: • Natural and White mono-material PE Film substrates • Preferred EVOH Barrier Materials for PP and HDPE packaging • Attachments for PET, HDPE, and PP packaging APR Design Recognition can be achieved through several paths, including PDR, but all paths confirm that a package or packaging com- ponent meets the highest criteria for recyclability according to the APR Design Guide for Plastics Recyclability. The new APR Design Recogni- tion Path Finder Tool helps determine eligibility for APR Design Recog- nition, the appropriate path, and required testing. Packaging and packaging components that receive APR Design Recognition are added to the APR Library of Recognized Solutions. This enables brand and retailer procurement teams to save the time, effort and resources needed to identify and validate recyclable pack- aging. Utilizing products from the library reduces risk when making re- cycling claims and can help meet legislative requirements.
