Helping North Platte Grow We work closely with the City of North Platte, Lincoln County, State of Nebraska, North Platte Public Schools, Mid-Plains Community College and all of our 630 plus business partners. We provide the information and contacts needed by prospective businesses and industries as they look at North Platte and Lincoln County as a potential location. This includes financial resources, incentives, building and land inventories, demographic information, labor supply and training resources. These partnerships indicate to business prospects that North Platte is a forward- thinking community and strongly supports economic development. We also realize the importance of having shovel ready business parks through our Chamber & Development’s ownership of Twin Rivers Business Park and the industrial Hershey Rail Park.
Many of our members choose to be partners in the economic development of our area by contributing to the Economic Development Incentive Fund. These funds are used as seed capital for business development and expansion of existing businesses in the North Platte area. These private dollars from our member businesses allow North Platte to remain competitive against other areas when recruiting new businesses or when helping current businesses grow. Incentives are awarded based on amount of investment in the community, level of wages which will be offered and the number of employees that will be hired or retained. The Nebraska Economic Development Certified Communities program is one of the handfuls across the nation that recognizes community economic preparedness. Certification signals a community’s dedication, leadership, and vision for growing and attracting new jobs and people.
