FLEM 18/02/2023 Toregene (NZ) When racing fiercely approaching first turn had to be restrained from heels. In this incident the mare shifted out & bumped the hindquarter of another rnr. A post-race vet exam of the mare which weakened in straight rev the mare to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion tnr was advised of the provisions of AR79(4). RHIL 25/03/2023

Shortly after start shifted in & made contact with another rnr. Rdr std he was instructed by the owner of the mare to ride mnt with aggression in early stages, establish a considerable lead & to apply pressure well prior to home turn in order to maintain a margin. Tnr std the mares general racing pattern is to lead & with it being stepped up in distance to 2000m, confirmed it was explicit instruction of owner to ride it in manner std by rdr. The inquiry was adjourned to gather further evidence in respect of rdr’s instructions & to examine other aspects of race. RAND15/04/2023 Rider- mount slightly slow to begin settled at the rear, was under pressure on straightening however made good ground. CAUL 19/08/2023 Laid in under pressure.
