One of the best ways to learn is by getting hands-on experience, and at North Dakota’s Gateway to Science exhibit, you and your children can do just that! Your family can learn about the weather, discover how energy is transferred to various sources, build your own spacecraft in the space exhibit, learn how farmers use science in agriculture, and much more. They even have an exhibit that allows you to learn all about your body and health. Our favorite portion is the Dental Experience section, where you can brush, floss, add fillings, and examine a giant mouth!

Did you know this was home to Sakakawea (Sacagawea), the interpreter and guide during Lewis and Clark’s expedition? If you don’t mind driving an hour northwest of Bismarck, you and your family can visit Knife River Indian Villages and learn more about the old Mandan and Hidatsa Native Americans. You’ll have a chance to see artifacts that came from the site, learn about the tribes that called this place home, and visit a reconstruction of what their villages looked like.

While the Urban Harvest isn’t until next month, we’re so excited about it that we didn’t want you to forget these dates! This event features local artists, crafters, food vendors, businesses, farmers, and entertainers that attendees can interact with and purchase products from. On top of the vendors, Urban Harvest hosts live music, activities for children, and much more! There is a little something for everyone.
