Donyale Luna is widely regarded as the world's first black supermodel and the first black woman to appear on the covers of major fashion magazines. One of those who first worked as models in New York before moving to London. In January 1965, her sketches graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar, and the following year, her face graced the cover of British Vogue.
