CARL – Call, Action, Report, Learn – is an effective, convenient way to track and record close calls, reducing safety incidents. With a simple app frontend, anyone working with Colas Rail UK, from staff to clients and our supply chain, can report and record safety conversations. Since CARL launched, we have seen a direct correlation, between increased safety conversations and a reduction in accidents.
From our CEO to our frontline colleagues, we believe safety is everyone’s responsibility. We continually share, reinforce, and reward best practice safety behaviours with a high emphasis on training, competence, and assessment. Safety also feeds into our collaborative ethos – our teams are encouraged to lead by example and collaborate with our supply chain to improve safety on all our sites. CARL: Our Safety Reporting App To continuously improve our safety record, the quality of our working environment, and enhance performance for our customers, our Health & Safety and IT teams collaborated to create our safety reporting app, CARL.
