Emphasis is on the use of appropriate software in the preparation of journals, financial statements, and selected payroll records. Upon completion, the student will be able to demonstrate the ability to use a microcomputer system to record financial data. CODE C (3-0-0) This course is designed to give the student knowledge about managing office records and information. Emphasis is on basic filing procedures, methods, systems, supplies, equipment, and modern technology used in the creation, protection, and disposition of records stored in a variety of forms. Upon completion, the student should be able to perform basic filing procedures. CODE C OAD 214 Medical Office Procedures, 3 hours (3-0-0) This course focuses on the responsibilities of professional support personnel in a medical environment. Emphasis is on medical terms, the production of appropriate forms and reports, and office procedures and practices. Upon completion, the student should be able to perform office support tasks required for employment in a medical environment. CODE C (3-0-0) This course is designed to promote an understanding of the structure, analysis and management of medical records. Emphasis is on managing medical records and insurance records, coding of diseases, operations, and procedures; and the legal aspects of medical records. Prerequisite: OAD 215 This course is designed as a continuation of OAD 215 Health Information Management.
