we need to take to correct these things in our lives. We are told to put to death the old man who seeks, through the fallen nature, to satisfy the flesh (vrs. 5). So many Christians are in need of a chal lenge of their life in relation to earth's pursuits. How easy it is just to follow along with the crowd and the tide of popular opinion. So often the professing Christian does not allow the Spirit of God to con trol his life. No wonder we are weak and the church is fruitless. We do not see the power of trans formation which ought to charac terize the Spirit-controlled child of God. Such a message may be un popular but it is desperately need ed if we are to make any kind of an impact upon this age. Have you heard of the boy who wanted to take off his puppy's tail? He did not do it all at one time because it might hurt the animal too much. For this reason he removed it an inch at a time. This is the unfortunate way we ap proach our need for cleansing. We do not want to hurt ourselves too badly. Consequently the whole testimony of the church is hurt be cause we are not willing to go all the way for and with God. We must put to death those things in our lives which are in conformity with the world! There is an antidote to such sin which is so rampant. It is based on true love for the Lord. It should pervade and permeate all of our relationships. To attract those on the outside we must show that we have something far more worth while. As an example we are to put on the garments of love "which is the bond of perfectness" (vrs. 14).

John Felnberg, a ‘71 Talbot graduate, will pursue doctoral studies at Trinity Semin ary in Illinois next fall. John was student body President at Talbot this year. It can occur right now. Misery, emptiness, a lack of security are all a part of His judgment upon the children of disobedience. This is not to minimize His judgment in the future, as well. At that time, all men who have rejected Jesus Christ as Saviour will stand before God. There will be no escape and no second chance. God's verdict concerning sin is death! God puts the obligation upon each one of us to accept His ad vice about whatever drastic action Page 38
