that was what the Bible contained. Would your children be any dif ferent? Do you take time to share Bible truths with them? Proper training should also in clude a constant discussion of the Word of Cod (Deut. 6:7). Every family's conversation should in clude something from the Bible. This should be done just as read ily as our talk about the weather, sports or the latest news. The se cret of any good teaching ministry is repetition. Explanation and ap plication must go hand-in-hand. Finally, proper training is not complete without including loving discipline. If you are not living a good life do not expect your chil dren to do anything more than copy you to your own shame and tragedy. In this area correction is to be neither permissive nor tyran nical. How you correct your off spring is proof of your love for them (Pro. 13:24). As long as you discipline in the manner prescribed by Scripture you will not need to worry about ruining his personality development. Too often parents neglect to punish their children for wrong doings simply because it hurts them more than their off spring. No wonder there is so much rebellion today. If you do not dis cipline them now they will break your heart later. Someone has ob served that the time to teach chil dren respect for authority is when they are in the play pen and not in the state pen! Your home should have rules. Your children should know what they are, the reasons for them, and the penalty for a failure to enforce them. We must help them to de velop moral discernment. It is a basic fact that children want to please their parents. Usually they
