Every January, people talk about resolutions. But at our firm, goal-setting isn’t something we do once a year. It’s a habit and a mindset we carry year-round to ensure our compass is pointed in the right direction. Looking back on 2025, I’m reminded how powerful a clear sense of purpose can be. Our team worked hard on numerous cases last year, but we also went all-in for the community we love. With Mission Arlington, we were able to donate 333 backpacks to kids. We also helped serve over 20,000 Thanksgiving meals and delivered Christmas gifts that brought smiles to thousands of children. Additionally, we partnered with Cook Children’s Hospital during their annual Radiothon. Our firm matched donations and helped raise thousands for the kids and families who need it most. And through our Animal Rescue Scholarship, we recognized a deserving student who shares our belief in compassion, advocacy, and service. Supporting causes and organizations like these has become one of the most meaningful things we do every year, and we’re committed to growing our community partnerships even further. To close out the year, we brought the whole team together at Live by Loews for our holiday party. It was a night filled with gratitude, laughter, and a little Christmas magic. Santa and his elves surprised the kids with gifts. We built gingerbread houses and took time to reflect on everything we accomplished together. It was a fantastic way to end the year and get ourselves ready for all that’s to come in 2026. Those moments are special because they remind us why we do what we do. Behind every case, client, and community project is a simple truth: We’re here to help people move forward after life knocks them down. That commitment keeps us focused, even on the hard days. It’s also what drives our growth. Referrals are the heartbeat of our firm, and we never take them for granted. They’re really the highest compliment we can receive. Every time someone trusts us enough to recommend us to a friend or family member, it reminds me that the work we do matters. Treating people right and producing extraordinary results isn’t just good business; it’s a way of life at the firm. As 2026 begins, I’m thinking about goals. Some are big and long-term. Some are small daily habits that help us stay on course. But they all serve the same purpose. For me, goals are a way to stay disciplined, focused, and true to our mission. This year, our goals are simple but powerful: Goals, Gratitude, and Growth A NEW YEAR AT AULSBROOK LAW

If you’re in a crash with a driver who disappears or carries bare-bones coverage, you may be left wondering how the bills will get paid. That is exactly why uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage exists in Texas. It steps in when the at-fault driver has no insurance, insufficient insurance, or cannot be identified after a hit-and-run incident. UM/UIM is part of your auto policy. It can cover injuries and, in many policies, property damage up to your limits. Texas requires insurers to offer this coverage, and you must reject it in writing if you do not want it. We recommend checking your declarations page now so you aren’t guessing after a wreck. Hit-and-runs are where this coverage often matters most. The Texas Department of Insurance notes that UM/UIM can apply when the other driver cannot be found, which is most common in parking lot incidents and nighttime crashes. It may even offer advantages over collision coverage alone. However, there’s a Texas regulation that many people are unaware of until they file a claim. To recover UIM benefits, you must establish the other driver’s legal liability and your damages. Only then does the carrier owe UIM benefits. We guide clients through this process to ensure that evidence and timing are handled correctly. If you are hit, the steps you take in the first day or two matter. Call the police and get a Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Report (CR-3). Photograph the damage and anything relevant from the scene. If possible, you also want to get the names and phone numbers of any witnesses. Seek prompt medical care, and follow up on referrals. Notify your insurer as soon as possible and save any relevant telematics or dashcam files you may have. Taking time to do these things can make a big difference in UM/UIM claims. COVERAGE THAT FILLS THE GAP Understanding UM/UIM Protection
As we enter another new year, there’s no better time to adjust your daily habits to help you become the healthiest version of yourself mentally and physically. Here are three strategies you can incorporate into your New Year’s expectations and resolutions that will help ensure 2026 is your healthiest year yet! 3 DAILY HABITS THAT WILL TRANSFORM YOUR 2026
Start every day strong. Many Americans fall into the same routines year after year, and most are dangerous for their overall well-being. They stay up too late, wake up to an alarm a few hours later, scramble to get ready, and jump in the car as soon as possible to get to work. Your morning routine sets the tone for your day. If you’re in a hurry every morning, you will feel rushed and exhausted. Give yourself ample time in the morning to take care of yourself and some simple chores. Make your bed, have a glass of water, take good care of your hygiene, eat something, and incorporate some movement into your mornings. It will be hard initially, but you’ll feel the benefits within a few weeks. Diet and exercise matter. This is probably not news to you, but we can’t downplay the importance of diet and exercise. Listen to your body; it will tell you what it needs. Many people fall into the trap of overeating without realizing it or starving themselves when they want to lose weight, but this won’t make them feel good. Eat when your body tells you to, stick to a healthy diet, and find time for exercise. You need to find ways to motivate yourself, especially when you want to stay in bed and stick to comfort foods. Your body will thank you. Drink more water. How much water do you drink each day? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that men should drink about 15.5 cups of fluids daily and women should drink 11.5 cups. If you aren’t hitting these numbers, it’s time to adjust. Start and finish each day with a glass of water. Walk around with a refillable bottle. Staying hydrated will help your body function much better.
UM/UIM coverage is designed to help Texans rebuild after a crash. If an uninsured, underinsured, or
unidentified driver causes your injuries, our team at Aulsbrook Law Firm can review your coverage, preserve the proof, and pursue the benefits you paid for.

A SAFER GAME DAY STARTS EARLY
Don’t Let an Accident Ruin Super Bowl Sunday Texas game days are huge. Football is a lifestyle around here, and when a big game like the Super Bowl is happening, it can feel like a holiday. People host parties and share food and drinks, and the evening often stretches long past the last whistle. Unfortunately, impaired driving can be a real problem when a game’s on. and schedule in advance, or go out with a designated sober driver. Hosts can help, too. Keep food and water within easy reach, offer tasty, alcohol- free beverages, and establish a planned cut-off time for drinks.
And remember that the risks aren’t limited to impaired drivers. When you’re headed home after a big local game or a national event like the Super Bowl, you can expect a lot of people to be out on the roads, especially around bars and sports arenas. Be careful around intersections and watch for impatient drivers and distracted pedestrians. On game day, we all just want to root for our team, have a good time, and get home safely at the end of the night. So, let’s be cautious this time of year and make sure the party ends at the front door rather than in the road. And if you get injured in an accident involving a drunk driver, don’t try to deal with things by yourself. At Aulsbrook Law Firm, we’ll fight for your rights and handle your claim so you can focus on recovering from your injuries.
More than 12,000 people, or roughly 34 people a day, were killed in alcohol-related accidents in 2023. Nearly 1,700 of those were in Texas. Our state also sees a large number of DUI arrests every year, and these incidents spike on weekends and game days. Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that Super Bowl Sunday is one of the riskiest days out on the road due to impaired drivers. Almost half of all traffic fatalities on this day are related to drunk driving. Fortunately, we can all do our part to keep the roads safe. It starts with planning before the first drink ever hits the table. If drinking is part of your game-day plans, make sure you have a sober ride. You can use rideshare

COSMIC COUNSEL WHO MAKES THE RULES IN SPACE?
The phrase “space lawyer” may conjure images of an intergalactic courtroom setting in a “Star Trek” film, but the term and profession are rooted in reality here on Earth. Simply put, space lawyers are legal professionals specializing in international law and drafting agreements between countries regarding their activities throughout our galaxy. Instead of brokering peace treaties between humans and Klingons, these attorneys work to establish policies that outline rules and obligations nations must follow when conducting themselves beyond our clouds. For example, treaties negotiated by space lawyers were instrumental in getting the Soviet Union to spend millions to clean up radioactive debris deposited over northern Canada by its Cosmos 954 satellite in the late 1970s. Utilizing Article 7 of the Outer Space Treaty (via the 1972 Space Liability Convention), the Canadian government argued that the Soviet Union was on the hook to cover the majority of the
cost of Operation Morning Light, an extensive cleanup operation by the U.S. and Canada to remove nearly 50,000 square miles of hazardous material dropped from space. Thanks to space lawyers, no nation can claim ownership of Earth (or any other planet), the moon, or any other entity discovered in the galaxy. However, recent debates have raised an intriguing question: Who would own the resources derived from the moon or another planet? If Russia were to one day discover a life-saving nutrient on the moon’s surface, would it have the right to claim exclusive ownership of this medical marvel? Would this discovery need to be shared with other nations involved in space-related treaties? While it may take years (or the invention of a good time- traveling warp drive) for us to resolve these questions, it’s clear we need space lawyers to tackle these and other questions in a legal frontier that no Earth-bound lawyer has pondered before!
