Behind the Breeding
Exotica ™ Coral Sunrise Part of the fun of being a breeder is working with unique shapes of old cultivars. It is my job to search for ways to adapt these proven shapes to modern horticulture. Exotica Coral Sunrise is a variety with a background of heirloom geraniums updated with modern breeding. This variety grows healthy roots and branches vigorously. With its yellow-green foliage, it stands out in combination planters. As a bonus, flowering is early for both growers and retailers. Exotica Coral Sunrise has the feel of a 19 th century heirloom geranium, and I think that’s kind of classy.
Starry Pure White Starry Pure White appeared unique on the breeding benches and stood out for her star-shaped flowers, branching habit, floriferousness and pure white color. At first glance she might appear a diva with her own mentality. But after many trials, I have gotten to know her down-to-earth nature. She always works hard and delivers flowers in abundance. Her pure white color and starry shape function well in combinations or standing alone.
