Recordings conducted by Kenneth Kiesler ‘The Michigan soloists are good to excellent, especially Kristin Eder as Electra.
‘The performances of both works are first-rate. The singers as a whole bring resonant, attractive voices, clear diction, and dramatic intensity to their work. Kenneth Kiesler elicits crisp, lively, and colourful playing by the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra.’ –Fanfare
Choruses do well with the French language and the orchestra shows occasional signs of labour, though everyone sounds mightiest amid the most challenging polytonal sections of Les Euménides .’ – Gramophone
