The Vankleek Hill arena has closed for the season, a few weeks ahead of schedule. La Fondation de l’Hôpital général de Hawkesbury et du district (HGH) a reçu un don de 5200$ de la part des filiales de la Direction provinciale de l’Ontario de la Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation (RCLCF) pour soutenir sa campagne «There’s No Place Like Home». L’argent servira à financer le nouveau programme orthopédique de l’hôpital, afin que les résidents puissent se rendre à l’hôpital local pour subir une chirurgie de remplacement du genou ou de la hanche et recevoir des soins plutôt que de devoir se déplacer à l’extérieur de la ville. Le RCLCF est soutenu par toutes les filiales de la Légion, y compris la filiale 472 de Hawkesbury, par le biais de leurs campagnes du coquelicot et d›autres activités de collecte de fonds.
