ORGANISING STEWARDS
Stage 2
UNISON stewards are the most important link between members in the workplace, their employer and the wider union. This 10-day course is for new stewards to give you the knowledge and skills to support members locally and take on issues in your workplace. The next three days (Stage 2) are for workplace representatives and will certify you to accompany members at disciplinary and grievance hearings in compliance with the Employment Relations Act 1999.

EQUALITY REPS/OFFICERS
The course aims to establish a culture of understanding of equality, issues amongst Equality Reps and to promote best practice. After this course, the participants should understand: · The nature of discrimination in the workplace. · How workplace discrimination relates to UNISON’s aims and values. · The role of the Equality Officer in the branch and the workplace.
