COMMUNICATION OFFICERS TRAINING
Effective communications with members sits at the heart of UNISON’s organising strategy. We want to ensure that all members are engaged and play active roles in our union. Communication Officers are crucial to this success at branch level. This course features communications training using different platforms as well as digital organising strategies for engaging our members and helping them play an active role in their union.

HEALTH & SAFETY - PART 1 Being a health and safety rep entitles you to paid time off for union duties. All stewards are asked to complete health and safety training to enable them to support members in the workplace and to secure time off to do so. This is particularly important for those in the private voluntary sector. This six-day course covers legislation, risk assessments, workplace inspections and areas of health and safety, including physical environment, equipment, lone working, and work-related stress.
