Member Learning Courses OCTOBER 2026
The Pathways Programme over the years has been designed to empower women members to become active in UNISON and take on leadership roles. Although 85% of UNISON members are women, they remain underrepresented in activist and decision-making structures. Pathways continues to change this by building confidence and providing practical guidance. Pathways is about representation, equality, and empowerment. It helps women gain the knowledge and skills to lead campaigns, influence decisions, and strengthen the union. PATHWAYS LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME - RESIDENTIAL

HEALTH & SAFETY – PART 1
Being a health and safety rep entitles you to paid time off for union duties. All stewards are asked to complete health and safety training to enable them to support members in the workplace and to secure time off to do so. This is particularly important for those in the private voluntary sector. This six-day course covers legislation, risk assessments, workplace inspections and areas of health and safety, including physical environment, equipment, lone working, and work-related stress.
