ANXIETY BASED SCHOOL AVOIDANCE

This workshop is aimed at those supporting children who are experiencing school-based anxiety in a professional and/or personal capacity. The session aims to develop an understanding of the risk factors, potential triggers and proactive strategies to interpret behaviours and provide appropriate support. This is an engaging workshop which involves group discussions and practical activities to enhance learning. The aim is for attendees to leave the session feeling equipped with strategies and tools to support these children and young people, who are often misunderstood. DIGNITY IN HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE The promotion of dignity is at the heart of all health and social care practice. When systems fail violation of dignity is a primary outcome. Despite its importance dignity is a poorly understood concept. This half day workshop aims to enable participants to have a better understanding of what the promotion of dignity means in practice. They will be able to identify that factors that underpin dignity and will be gain an understating of the interconnection between dignity and human rights. The training is suitable for anyone working in the health and social care sector. It is also useful to people interested in pursuing further education or careers in nursing, social work and other allied health professions. Delivered by Dr Una Lynch a registered Public Health Nurse for over 30 years, she has an MSc from Trinity College Dublin and Doctorate in Governance from Queen’s Belfast.
